I just got back from vacation and we've spent the day flooding the store with new games, literally hundreds of titles across all platforms. The online store will be getting a major influx as well tomorrow. Some crazy awesome things in stock.
ALSO: Come & check out our Expansion Pack next door, we've added lots more collectibles, DVD's, Laptops & more, as well we're buying DVD's (a few or an entire collection) and Blu-Ray's.
ONE MORE THING: We are in need of a contractor that has experience with permits & some electrical (to put a few doorways in the wall between our spaces). If you know anyone, let us know.
09 February 10 - 19:37Gamedeals is no longer hiring!!! UPDATE #2
Gamedeals Video Games is hiring as part of our expansion. Part-time to start moving to full-time later in the year.
Things we're looking for:
- Experience in retail (especially indie stores).
- Familiarity with video games, movies, and other geek culture.
- Know how to use a computer (inc. Excel, we use Mac & PC)
- Have a cell phone (or willing to get one).
- Be over 19 years old (we hold a lot of meetings in bars/pubs).
- Lots of availability (or at least a consistent schedule).
- Be awesome.
Bonus points for these things:
- Have a drivers license & vehicle.
- Already be a customer of ours.
- Be an ex-employee of a competitor with inside knowledge we can use. ;)
- Be even MORE awesome.

UPDATE: Over 100 resumes so far, we have selected 16 people to interview & they have been emailed. If you didn't get picked, don't feel too bad about it, we had a lot of good people apply and as much as I'd like to interview all of them there just isn't time. We just levelled up...
We have acquired the space next door (formerly "Bruise") and will be expanding there in the VERY near future. Thus we are in need of showcases, display racks, couches, computers, signage, etc. to fill all of this empty space...
We're looking forward to bringing you more awesomeness with cheap DVD's, Laptops, disc-repair, and other collectibles. To do this as quickly as possible, we need a bit of extra cash... so this weekend (Feb. 6th & 7th) we're having a special sale.

This years batch of (straight from Japan) FF13 potion drinks are finally here. Featuring characters from the much anticipated Final Fantasy 13. Get them while they last.

Also: We will be closing early on New Year's Eve (Thursday) at 5:00pm. We will probably be in for regular hours on the 1st, but if it's not busy we may close early that day as well.
One more thing: We re-stocked a lot of things this week, and have quite a bit more to do as well in the coming week (as well as ordering more controllers/accessories/machines/etc.).

1. We just listed some games on eBay with 100% of the sale price going to Child's Play Charity (in support of BC Children's Hospital). Nobody brought anything in to donate, so we just listed some of our stuff. Next year we want to do something bigger, feel free to bring your suggestions.
2. We added a bunch of games to the storefront today (mostly Wii/PS3/360/DS).
3. We will be having a Boxing Day (actually X-mas day & the weekend) sale, details will come closer to the day.
This Friday (Dec. 11th) at the store. Nothing really special going on other than maybe some food & friends. Although if you bring us presents, we might be able to work out a deal or something. ;)
01 December 09 - 13:39Tis the season for giving...
As we do every year, Gamedeals likes to support the "Child's Play Charity". Run by Gabe & Tycho of Penny Arcade, it provides sick children with video games and shows that when gamers give back it makes a difference. There are almost 70 hospitals around the world involved, we've chosen our local "BC Children's Hospital" to support.
This year, we are planning a:
Charity auction on eBay with 100% OF THE PROCEEDS going to Child's Play.
We are currently accepting donations of items to list in our auctions, especially unique/rare things that will fetch higher values (for the kids), and will be accepting items until Dec. 7th. All items will be posted on eBay with 100% of the sale price going directly to the charity, as well items will be mentioned on our Blog, Twitter, YouTube, etc. with a thank you credit to you for especially good items.
I encourage everyone to go to the Child's Play website and read up about the charity. This isn't some UNICEF-type skimming off the top for employees kind of charity my friends, this is gamers helping sick kids, run by volunteers, and made awesome by people like you. Come by the store & bring something to auction off for the kids.

This Friday (November 27th) is Black Friday... primarily an American tradition... the biggest sale day of the year. Some Canadian retailers participate, and we are one of them.

20 November 09 - 17:20Gen Mobile & new plushies in stock.
The Gen Mobile (new handheld Sega Genesis licenced with built in games & cart slot) is finally in stock. I know there have been similar items available for a few months, but having played them all at E3, trust me this one is better (and was worth the wait for us).
Lots of new PS3/360 games in this week, as well as a Jaguar+CD, 3DO, NeoGeo Pocket, a Steel Battalion (complete WITH foot pedals), and some other random nice stuff.
ALSO:
An interview with Alexander4488, the "Game Dude".
- Still looking to raise some cash, so any dealers that want to buy up a large amount of overstock please contact me, otherwise while technically we're not having a sale... anyone that wants to spend $500+ on games/etc. can expect that I will cut them a good deal (assuming it's not all of our best stuff).
- We want to do something EPIC this year for "Child's Play Charity" (www.childsplaycharity.com) in support of BC Children's Hospital, any suggestions for a promotion/event/etc.?
- Our sympathy goes out to the huge number of local EA employees that are about to lose their job right before X-mas. If there's anything we can do, let us know, we wish you luck in finding work in other local studios... in the meantime if you need any games, show us your pink-slip and we'll happily cut you a deal.
- Added some random stuff to the online store yesterday.
- Those Genesis handhelds are finally on their way, they're better than the ones currently available and we're only getting a few of them for now (but will order more later).

The Gamedeals Party Van is on it's deathbed, and Brian needs new wheels, fast. So tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 5th) is BIG SALE DAY!!!
EVERYTHING is on sale, no reasonable offer refused, come early, bring cash. We will be open extended hours (9am-9pm) Thursday only for your convenience. Dealers welcome, in-store only (but items on the online store are available as well, but must be purchased in store). There's a ton of good games in the store right now, I don't want to sell them even cheaper than they already are, but I also don't want to walk to the store all winter, so my loss is your gain. If you can't take advantage of the sale yourself, please at least tell other people as I need to raise as much as possible in one day, thanks.
